The South African Mint is a leading maker of quality circulation, collectable and investment coins. We draw inspiration from our country’s rich heritage in crafting some of the world’s most admired coins. In 2017 we celebrated two significant 50th anniversaries: that of the iconic Krugerrand and that of the world’s first heart transplant, in fine and sterling silver respectively. We also introduced our second installation of colour coins, showcasing the rich diversity and astounding beauty of the Cape West Coast Biosphere Reserve.
