Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
The South African Mint Company (RF) (Pty) Ltd (“SA Mint”/ “we”/ “us”), a wholly owned subsidiary of the South African Reserve Bank (“SARB”), provides this website, including all information, products, pricing and services, subject to applicable law, including:
the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (“CPA”);
the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”); and
any other applicable regulatory requirements, including financial crime and exchange control legislation where relevant.
By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms, unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.
2. Accuracy of Information
We take reasonable steps to ensure that all information on this website is accurate, complete and current.
Notwithstanding the above, inadvertent errors, inaccuracies or omissions may occur.
We reserve the right, at any time and without prior notice, to:
correct any errors or omissions; and
update or amend content.
We shall not be bound by any incorrect information displayed, provided that:
such correction is communicated prior to the conclusion of a transaction; or
the error is material and obvious to a reasonable consumer.
3. Pricing and Financial Information
All prices displayed on this website are:
indicative only; and
subject to change without prior notice.
Final pricing will be confirmed in writing prior to the conclusion of any transaction, in compliance with the CPA.
Pricing of numismatic and collectable products is determined by multiple factors, including:
rarity;
demand;
production limits; and
prevailing market conditions, and is not necessarily linked to the underlying commodity price.
4. Formation of Contract
No transaction shall be deemed concluded unless and until a written Order Confirmation has been issued by an authorised representative of SA Mint.
Any communication, quotation, or product listing on this website:
constitutes an invitation to do business only; and
does not constitute a binding offer by us.
We reserve the right to accept or reject any order in its discretion, subject to applicable law.
5. Validity of Quotations
Unless otherwise stated in writing, all quotations are valid for a period of seven (7) calendar days from date of issue.
We reserve the right to withdraw or amend quotations at any time prior to acceptance.
6. Product Availability and Fulfilment
All products are subject to:
availability; and
production and supply constraints.
Where a product becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, we will:
notify you as soon as reasonably practicable; and
offer, at your election:
an alternative product;
a revised delivery timeline; or
a refund, where applicable, in compliance with the CPA.
Website content may not reflect real-time availability and delays in updating stock status may occur.
7. Limitation on Quantities
We reserve the right to:
limit quantities available for purchase per customer or transaction,
provided that such limitation is:
reasonable;
applied consistently; and
not unfairly discriminatory in contravention of the CPA.
8. Website Availability and Updates
We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of this website.
Products reflected as available may, due to timing delays, be:
out of stock; or
already allocated.
We shall not be liable for any loss arising from such discrepancies, subject to relevant consumer protections under applicable laws.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from reliance on website content.
Nothing in this notice limits or excludes liability where such limitation is prohibited by law, including under the CPA.
10. Protection of Personal Information (POPIA)

10.6. Disclosure to Third Parties
We may disclose personal information to:
regulatory authorities and law enforcement agencies;
financial institutions and payment processors;
authorised service providers acting under confidentiality obligations,
only where such disclosure is:
necessary;

proportionate to the purpose.
10.7. Data Subject Rights
In terms of POPIA, data subjects have the right to:
access their personal information;
request correction, deletion or destruction of their personal information;
object to processing under prescribed circumstances;
withdraw consent (where applicable); and
lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
10.8. Retention of Personal Information
Personal information will be retained:
only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected; or
for such period as required by applicable law (including financial regulatory and FICA requirements).
10.9. Reference to SARB Group Privacy Notice
